Chargers Take Care of Crusaders

Front Royal, VA- Charger bats came alive in Tuesday’s sweep of Christendom College. Lancaster made light work of the Crusaders in game one, combining error free play with four homeruns for a 14-4 victory. The Chargers went yard another three times in game two on their way to a 9-4 victory.

 

Lancaster picked up stellar performances on the mound from starting pitchers Marcus Benner (Waldoboro, ME) and Josh Chamberlain (Friendship, ME). In game one, Benner pitched his first complete game, allowing three hits and four earned runs with seven strikeouts. Chamberlain also went the distance with four strikeouts, eight hits, and three earned runs.

 

Zach Kraehmer (Newburgh, NY) was hot all day at the plate going 4-7 with three homeruns and four RBI’s and was hit by a pitch three times on the day. Designated hitter, Jake Clemenson (The Dalles, OR) had a big day as well with three hits in six at bats and four RBI’s. Eric Hollinger (Leola, PA) got in on the action in game one with six RBI’s hitting two for two with a homerun.

 

The Chargers will try to keep it rolling this weekend when they host nationally ranked Wilkes University on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
