The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team began its season two weeks ago in Langhorne, Pa. against Philadelphia Biblical University. That night they were swept 3-0 and did not look good in the process. Since then, they had improved and began to find themselves. Tuesday night in Horst Athletic Center, the Crimson Eagles showed the Chargers they still have things to improve.
PBU (7-1) jumped on the Chargers quickly and swept them 3-0. The Crimson Eagles won 30-16, 30-17, 30-20.
Justin Brubaker led PBU with 12 thunderous kills and 12 digs. Leandro Dueck added 11 kills and six digs. Drew Dillon had 30 assists to pace the Crimson Eagles.
"We competed better against them tonight then we did two weeks ago, but we certainly did not play as well as we have been," Charger Head Coach Ben Bewley said.
The Chargers (3-7) could not stop runs of five and six points throughout the match that prepelled PBU to victory.
"Give credit to PBU," Bewley said. "They did not mess around and did what they wanted to do and we could not stop them."
A.J. Longacre led the Chargers with six kills and nine digs.
Brent Hurst added 13 assists and four digs.
"A.J. having to step in right away and contribute has been difficult at times, but each game he is trying to improve something and he is an example to the other players," Bewley said. "He's playing important minutes for us and learning a lot as a freshman."
LBC is back in action on Friday when they travel to Buffalo, N.Y. to take on D'Youville at 6:00 p.m.
