The NCCAA East Region announced the recipients of their All-Region awards last week and four Lancaster Bible College players took home hardware.
For the women's basketball team, freshman
Lauren Heliger was named to the NCCAA East Region Second Team. Heliger led the Chargers with 9.2 points per game. She was third on the team in rebounds with 117. She led the team in assists (58), steals (44) and minutes played (25.7). She was second on the team in blocks with five, behind Emily Lloyd's 11.
Representing the men's basketball team were
Madison Warfel,
Kevin Keltner and
Carl Edwards. Warfel was named to the Second Team, while Keltner and Edwards were presented with First Team Award plaques.
Warfel, averaging 13.4 points per game, leads the team in three-pointers made with 63. Edwards is averaging 14.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Keltner, the team's leading scorer averages 15.6 points per game.
The men's basketball team begins its quest for a national title on Tuesday when they take on Ohio Christian in the first round of the National Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
