Chargers Draw 5th Seed, Will Play Ohio Christian

The Lancaster Bible College baseball team, champions of the NCCAA East Region, will head to the National Tournament in Mason, Ohio as the fifth seeded team in the eight team bracket. The Chargers (16-14) will take on the fourth seeded Trailblazers from Ohio Christian.

The Trailblazers, winners of the Mideast Region, will face the Chargers on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. The winner of the LBC-OCU game will play the winner of the Atlanta Christian-Maranatha Baptist Bible game on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Should LBC lose their first game, they will play on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m.

"This is not the worst draw we could have gotten, but it is not an easy one by any means," Chargers' Head Coach Doug Yager said. "[OCU] is the four seed for a reason and have some really good players."

This will be the second time this academic year that OCU and LBC have met at a National Tournament. The Trailblazers' men's basketball team dashed LBC's hopes of a national title by beating them in the opening round of Nationals in March. The women's basketball team also faced Ohio Christian this season, losing 68-49 in the beginning of January.

The LBC baseball team is the fourth team to go to Nationals this academic year. The men's soccer team placed fifth at Nationals in November, while the men's cross country team took home third place that same month. The men's basketball team made their second trip to Nationals in March. The baseball team is making their third trip to Nationals in the last four years.
