Chargers Win Fourth Straight Game

Box Score Coming off one of its biggest wins of the season, the Lancaster Bible women's basketball team wanted to keep things rolling on Wednesday in the Nation's Capital against Gallaudet. Though it wasn't pretty on the offensive end, the Chargers' defense stepped up, helping the Chargers to a 45-31 victory.

The win, LBC's fourth straight, moves the Chargers to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in NEAC play.

Chargers' senior Lauren Heliger led LBC in points for the second straight game as she poured in 19 points. She added six rebounds, three assists and three steals as well.

"Lauren was huge for us tonight," Chargers' Head Coach Doug Helsel said. "We had some trouble shooting the ball tonight, but Lauren and the defense carried us."

The Chargers' defense allowed just 10 first half points. In LBC's meeting earlier this season with the Bison, they allowed just 11 first half points.

"I thought we forced them into a lot of turnovers and the steals helped us get some easy points," Helsel said.

Freshman Aubrey Folger had eight points, seven rebounds and five steals for the Chargers, who haven't lost to an NCAA Division III opponent since December 6, when they lost to Penn St. Harrisburg, 60-58.

The Chargers will look to extend their winning streak to a season-best five games on Saturday when they take on Morrisville State, in Morrisville, N.Y. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Notes:
-The Chargers are a perfect 4-0 all-time against Gallaudet.
