Chargers Falter in Season Finale

The Lancaster Bible women's lacrosse team lost its season finale and final home game of the season on Saturday as the Chargers lost to Bryn Athyn, 13-5. The loss drops and closes the Chargers season with records of 2-12 overall and 1-8 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. Lancaster Bible finishes the season 1-4 at Charger Field with the lone win coming against St. Elizabeth.

On Saturday, the Chargers stumbled out of the gate as they allowed the first six goals to Bryn Athyn. The Chargers dealt with a deficit of 7-2 at halftime. After the break Bryn Athyn then scored five of the next six goals to take a 12-3 lead, and then when on to win 13-5.

After giving up the first six goals of the game, Lancaster Bible got on the board with back to back goals by Alyssa Wesner and Myranda Kemrer. Bryn Athyn would then score the last goal of the half to make it 7-2, with the Chargers trailing by five.

Bryn Athyn would score the next two goals to make it 9-2, Wesner scored once again to cut the deficit by one, but four goals then by Bryn Ahtyn shut down the momentum Lancaster Bible was gaining. Kemrer scored the next two goals off assists from Cheyenne Benson.  With those goals the Chargers made the score 12-5, but one last goal by Bryn Athyn with 0:29 remaining made the final score 13-5. Junior goalkeeper Bethany Dickerson had six saves, while Kemrer finished the game with 10 ground balls.
