The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team won its fourth straight match on Wednesday night as the Chargers defeated Arcadia, 3-0 at Horst Athletic Center. The victory moves the Chargers to 12-5 this season, while the Knights fell to 7-8. 

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible jumped out to an early 5-2 lead in the opening set and led 10-8 midway through the first set. Leading by two, the Chargers strung together seven straight points, six of them coming with senior Derek Bigley serving. Two of the points in the run came off aces by Bigley, while he also added a kill during the 7-0 stretch.

Pesky Arcadia didn't go away though and won 11 of the next 13 points to tie the game at 19-19. Errors haunted the Chargers during the run, but Lancaster Bible reset itself and won five of the next six points. Kills by junior Kasey Gentry and Bigley keyed the run and two points later, freshman Kole Horst put the set away with a thunderous kill.

In the second set, the teams traded points early in the set with Arcadia taking a 9-8 lead on a service error from Sean Cohen. The Knights would eventually build a 14-11 advantage, but Lancaster Bible fought back and tied the set on an error by Arcadia. The Knights re-took the lead at 19-17, but the Chargers won the next four points, three of which came on Arcadia errors, and took a 21-19 lead. Lancaster Bible led 22-21 a couple of points later and then won three of the final four points, the final one coming on a service error by Arcadia, and took the set, 25-22.

The third set was tight as well in the early going, but the Chargers began to pull away midway through and took a 20-12 lead after back-to-back aces from freshman Kaleb Ansell. The Chargers maintained their lead the rest of the way and Horst crushed another kill to seal the match.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 32 kills, while Arcadia had 26...Bigley led the Chargers with 11 kills and four digs, while Gentry had eight kills, two blocks and six digs...Ansell added three kills, 29 assists and three aces...Horst had five kills, while sophomore Daniel Kreider had four kills and two blocks...Bryce Galloway had a team-high seven kills for the Knights.
