The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team won its fifth straight game on Wednesday night, crushing Wilson, 67-30 in Chambersburg, Pa. The victory moves the Chargers to 11-7 overall this season, and 9-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while Wilson dropped to 7-10 overall and 3-6 in NEAC action.
1st Quarter Highlights:
-Lancaster Bible didn't score its first bucket until sophomore Caitlin Hickey knocked down a jump shot with 5:24 to play in the quarter...Despite the drought, Lancaster Bible was 5-of-6 from the free throw line over the first 4:36 and led 5-2 when Hickey's bucket went down
-The Chargers finally got rolling late in the quarter with buckets on four straight possessions...Sophomore Kaylee Boger began the scoring run, followed by a jumper fro junior Courtney Goyak, and sophomore Emily Morgan capped the run with two straight baskets of her own
-Lancaster Bible closed the quarter on a 9-2 run, and led 16-6 after 10 minutes of play
2nd Quarter Highlights:
-Lancaster Bible didn't let up early in the second quarter and used an 8-2 run over the first 5:35 of the quarter, to take a 24-8 advantage
-Wilson's Rachel Stoner knocked down a 3-pointer with 4:25 to play in the half, but it was only the second bucket of the quarter for the Phoenix, and would be the team's final basket as well
-The Chargers ended the quarter on a 7-0 run, capped by a bucket from sophomore RuthAnn Hostetler, and led 31-11 at halftime
3rd Quarter Highlights:
-Lancaster Bible maintained its large lead through the first part of the third quarter, and then extended its lead during the final five minutesÂ
-The Chargers led 40-20 after a jumper from Wilson's Ashley Henderson, but Lancaster Bible's defense clamped down and didn't allow another point the rest of the quarter
-While the defense was stout on one end, the offensive exploded on the other, as the Chargers rattled off 11 straight points to take a 51-20 lead after 30 minutes of play
4th Quarter Highlights:
-The Chargers maintained their large lead through the fourth quarter, as sophomore Becca Lucente scored all six of her points in the final 10 minutes
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 27-of-64 (42.2 percent) from the floor, but were just 13-of-28 from the free throw line...Wilson shot just 12-of-73 (16.4 percent) from the field, and 2-of-33 from 3-point range...Hickey finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Chargers, while senior Kirsten Webster had 12 points, two rebounds and two assists...Goyak added nine points and 18 rebounds, and freshman Leah Steiner had eight points and five rebounds...Boger chipped in with seven points and six boards, while Morgan added eight points...Jasmine Wallace had a team-high nine points for Wilson.

Katelyn Vanderhoff said. "We had another balanced scoring game, and played solid defensively. W have a big test on Saturday against Penn St. Abington and we need to be prepared."
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 26-14 all-time against Wilson, and swept the season series this year...The Chargers defeated the Phoenix, 52-51 at Horst Athletic Center on Nov. 28...In a reversal, on Nov. 28, the Lancaster Bible men's basketball team defeated Wilson by 40 (97-57) and on Wednesday won by just one point (76-75), while the women did the opposite, and won by one in November and by 37 points on Wednesday...The 30 points allowed by Lancaster Bible is a season-low and the lowest allowed by the Chargers since they defeated then-Baptist Bible (now Clarks Summit), 91-23 on Nov. 15, 2014...The Chargers held Wilson to under 40 points twice during the 2014-15 season...Lancaster Bible did not make a 3-pointer for just the second time this season on Wednesday night...The other game this season where the Chargers didn't sink a 3-pointer, was the first matchup with the Phoenix in late November...The Chargers had a season-high 62 rebounds on Wednesday, including 50 defensive rebounds.
