The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team ended its 2018 season with a victory on Saturday, defeating SUNY Poly, 17-13 at Charger Field. The Chargers finished with a 4-12 overall record and 3-6 mark in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Wildcats fell to 4-10 overall and 2-7 in NEAC action.Â
Lancaster Bible tied Penn St. Abington for sixth place, and the final NEAC playoff spot, but the Nittany Lions earned the tiebreaker by defeating the Chargers, 19-14 on April 6, and will be the sixth seed in next week's NEACÂ Playoffs.
1st Half Highlights:
-Junior Hannah Thompson opened the scoring for the Chargers, netting her 40
th goal of the season just 20 seconds into the game
-Fellow junior Raegan Horst made it 2-0 about six minutes later, but SUNY Poly got a goal back 15 seconds later on Mari Ames' 35
th goal of the year
-The Chargers would score the next four goals of the game over an eight-minute span, as Myranda Kemrer, Thompson and two more goals from Horst gave Lancaster Bible a 6-1 lead with 15:30 to play in the opening half
-The Wildcats scored four of the next five goals, and trailed just 7-5 with 6:12 to play in the first half, but Lancaster Bible got goals from Thompson, Kaylee Boger and Emily Morgan in the final 3:56 of the half, and took a 10-5 advantage into halftime

2nd Half Highlights:
-SUNY Poly scored the first two goals of the second half, but Kemrer, one of five seniors honored prior to the game, scored her 45
th goal of the season, followed by Boger's second goal of the day, to give the Chargers a 12-7 lead with 10:37 to play
-The Wildcats pulled to within three, 13-10 after scoring three of the next four goals, but they wouldn't get any closer, as Sarah Vega netted her second goal of the year, followed by two more goals from Kemrer, as the Chargers closed out the Wildcats

By the Numbers:
-Lancaster Bible held a 34-25 edge in shots, including a 24-19 advantage in shots on goal
-The Chargers held a 15-14 advantage in ground balls, and a 20-12 lead in draw controls
-Kemrer finished with five goals and two assists in her final collegiate game
-Horst had four goals, two assists and a team-high 11 shots
-Thompson finished with three goals and an assist, as did Boger, while Thompson led the Chargers with 11 draw controls
-Morgan chipped in with a goal and an assist, while Hope Privitera added an assist
-Nicolette Statuti earned her fourth win of the season, making five saves
-Kayla Prosinski had five goals and two assists to lead the Wildcats, as she finished her season with 50 goals
