The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team saw its 2019 season come to an end on Tuesday, as the Chargers lost to Penn St. Harrisburg, 3-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Quarterfinals in Middletown, Pa.

The Chargers held a 2-1 lead with 20 minutes to play, but the Nittany Lions fought back with two late goals, and Lancaster Bible ends its year with a 9-10 overall record. Penn St. Harrisburg advances to the NEAC Semifinals with a record of 10-9-1, and will face second-seeded Keuka on Saturday in Reading, Pa.

How it Happened: Penn St. Harrisburg jumped on the Chargers in the early minutes of the contest, as the Nittany Lions put five shots towards the goal, and had a corner kick opportunity. Lancaster Bible goalkeeper made two early saves to keep the game scoreless, but Rhyan Socash opened the scoring at 11:30 with her 12
th of the goal year.

After playing defense for 10 minutes, the Penn St. Harrisburg goal woke the Chargers up, and Lancaster Bible's
Jackie Moore tied the game at 1-1 with her second goal of the year, as she beat her defender and scored from the top of the box.

Just 1:07 later, Lancaster Bible was awarded a penalty kick, and Moore connected again, giving the Chargers a 2-1 advantage at 17:11 of the first half. The teams traded possession after Lancaster Bible's second goal, and the Chargers went into halftime with a one-goal advantage.

Lancaster Bible held the Penn St. Harrisburg offense at bay for over 25 minutes of the second half, and even had some offensive chances of their own, but Penn St. Harrisburg tied the game at 70:48, as Madison Hemler hammered a goal into the top corner off a free kick.

Penn St. Harrisburg continued to control play following the goal, and Socash scored again at 83:01 to give the Nittany Lions a 3-2 lead. Lancaster Bible couldn't get any offense started in the final six minutes, as Penn St. Harrisburg controlled play, and ran out the clock.

News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 6-8 all-time against Penn St. Harrisburg…The Chargers lost to the Nittany Lions, 2-1 earlier this season in Lancaster…Lancaster Bible caps the year with a  4-6 record on the road…This is the third straight season the Chargers have had their season end in the NEAC Quarterfinals, as the Chargers lost to Bryn Athyn in 2017, and Cazenovia in 2018…Tuesday marked the first time all season the Chargers lost when scoring two or more goals in a game.
