The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team ran its winning streak to nine matches on Friday night, as the Chargers defeated St. Elizabeth, 3-0 at Horst Athletic Center. The Chargers are now 9-2 overall, and 2-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Eagles dropped to 2-5 overall and 0-3 in NEAC action. The Chargers won by game scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-19.

How it Happened: St. Elizabeth won the first two points of the opening set, but the Chargers took 10 of the next 11, and opened up a 10-3 thanks to a kill from
Kole Horst. Two straight kills from
Daniel Kreider and
Zeke Hallman made it 15-5 later in the set, and back-to-back kills from
Nate Miller made it 23-9 a few points later.
Zach Keating's third ace of the set gave the Chargers set-point, which they won two points later on an error by the Eagles.

Lancaster Bible opened the second set by winning eight of 12 points, but St. Elizabeth took five straight points, and led, 9-8 early in the second frame. It was all Chargers from there however, as Lancaster Bible took advantage of some St. Elizabeth errors, and got kills from
Jacob Faust and
Hunter Davis, to build a 15-10 lead.
Colin McCabe had several kills in the second set and
Kyran Flahive's serving propelled the Chargers to a 25-16 second-set victory.

Lancaster Bible played well in the early part of the third set as well, as Flahive had a kill followed by an ace, to give the Chargers an early 9-3 advantage. St. Elizabeth hung around a bit in the third set, and trailed just 20-16 late in the frame, but an ace from
Reuben Kemrer gave the Chargers match point, and they took the match three points later a service error by the Eagles.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 38 kills and 11 errors on 71 attempts for a .380 hitting percentage…The Eagles had 15 kills and 15 errors on 53 attempts…Miller and McCabe each led the Chargers with seven kills, while Faust added five kills as well…
Caleb Roberts added four kills, as did Horst…Kemrer finished with a match-high 21 assists, and also had three aces…Flahive had three kills, four digs and two aces, while Keating chipped in with three aces and three assists…
Joshua Hess led the Chargers with seven digs...Justin Millan had six kills to pace the Eagles.
