Chargers Sweep Wolves, Head to NEAC Final

The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team is headed back to the North Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Final after Saturday's 3-0 victory over Keuka in the NEAC Semifinals at Horst Athletic Center. The Chargers won, 25-17, 25-15, 32-30, and improved to 26-4 overall this season, while the Wolves capped their year at 13-13.
 
No. 10 Lancaster Bible will face Wells in the NEAC Final on Sunday, and will look to advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the second straight season.
 
How it Happened: The teams traded points in the opening set, as Keuka took a 7-6 lead on an error by the Chargers. Lancaster Bible strung the next six points together following that point however, as Daniel Kreider and Nate Miller had kills during the run.
 
The Chargers won three of four points later in the set, as Zeke Hallman and Kyran Flahive connected for back-to-back kills. The Chargers continued to lead throughout the set, and won four of the final five points to grab the first set, 25-17.
 
Lancaster Bible jumped out to an 8-5 lead in the second set, as Benjamin Herb and Kreider posted back-to-back kills. The Chargers won nine of the next 11 points as well, and led 17-11 after an ace from Hallman. Flahive had a kill and a block during the run, as the Chargers wrapped up the set a few points later on a kill from Hallman.
 
The Chargers led 17-10 in the third set after a block from Kole Horst and Hallman, but Keuka won 10 of the next 12 points and led 20-19 after an error from the Chargers. The teams went back-and-forth from there, as Lancaster Bible fought off a set point at 24-23, and the Wolves matched, fighting off a match point at 25-24 and 26-25. Lancaster Bible finally put the match away, as Kaleb Ansell served up the team's third ace of the match, and lifted the Chargers to a 32-30 set win.
 
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible finished with 44 kills and 17 errors on 92 attempts for a .293 hitting percentage, while the Wolves had 21 kills and 15 errors on 75 attempts for a .080 attack percentage…Flahive led the team with 11 kills, and added two blocks…Horst finished with eight kills and two blocks...Kreider, Herb and Nate Miller had six kills each, while Herb had 14 digs and Miller had eight digs…Ansell finished with 36 assists and two kills, and Hallman had five kills and four blocks…Brad McKnight led the Wolves with eight kills.
 
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 9-6 all-time against Keuka…The 26 wins are a new program-record for the Chargers…Lancaster Bible is 13-1 at home this season…The 3-0 sweep was the 22nd of the season for Lancaster Bible…Saturday's win was the 10th straight for Lancaster Bible…Flahive's 11 kills are a career-high.
