The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team won for the second time in two days, and for the third straight time overall on Friday, as the Chargers opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 victory over Penn St. Abington at Donald H. Funk Field. Lancaster Bible is now 3-2 overall this season, and 1-0 in NEAC play, while the Nittany Lions dropped to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

How it Happened: Kara Huber was the star of the evening for the Chargers as she netted three goals leading to a 3-0 win over the visiting Penn St.-Abington Nittany Lions. Her first two goals were scored early in the second half at the 51st and 56th minute mark and were assisted by teammates
Kayla Hubbard and
Bryanna Hoover. The Chargers came out running in the second half as they sent shot after shot towards the goal resulting in a total of 23 shots. Huber was able to dribble the ball through the middle of the field at the 73 minute mark and make a beautiful shot to the back net of the right side resulting in her third goal of the game and fourth goal of the season. The Chargers defense was able to lock up defensively as they kept the Lions scoreless and on the offensive side, sharing the ball was the key to the night.

Statistically Speaking: The Chargers were able to place 23 shots towards the goal with nine corner kicks on the offensive end…Chargers goalie
Erin Mikula recorded three saves on the night for her third win of the season…The Nittany Lions had four shots and two corner kicks on the evening…Lions goalkeeper Morgan O'Loughlin made a game-high 12 saves.

Ally Long said. "The momentum from yesterday's win helped carry us into today, and the team was very excited to begin conference play."

On the Team's Offensive Play: "Our offense has come alive, and it's great to see Kara [Huber] and [Bryanna] Hoover connecting so well up top," Long said. "Each person on the team really has embraced their role which has led to our success early this season. It's my hope that we continue growing together on and off the field."
