Gators Chomp Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team lost for the fourth straight time on Wednesday, falling to Notre Dame (Md.), 16-7 at the Donald H. Funk Field. The Chargers are now 0-4 this season, while the Gators improved to 1-0.
 
First Half Notes
-Camryn Horst and Kayla Steiner scored the opening two goals for the Chargers who led, 2-0 after five minutes of play
-Notre Dame answered with two goals in 35 seconds and tied the game at 2-2
-Those two goals would be the first of 12 straight for the Gators, as they led, 12-2 with 9:22 to play in the opening half after a goal from Hannah Mullaney
-Emily Morgan scored late in the first half for the Chargers to make it 12-3, but Notre Dame (Md.) scored with eight seconds left in the frame to restore its 10-goal lead heading into the half
 
Second Half Notes
-The Chargers opened the scoring in the second half as well, with Kendal Ream netting her 12th goal of the season
-Notre Dame (Md.) scored the next four goals however, and led, 18-5 with just under eight minutes remaining
-Horst completed her hat trick in the final 4:17 of the contest as she scored twice
 
By the Numbers: Notre Dame (Md.) held a 35-18 lead in shots, including a 27-12 edge in shots on goal…The Gators also led in draw controls, 20-6…Horst led the Chargers with four goals, while Steiner, Ream, and Morgan added the other goals…Sara Vega had the lone assist for the Chargers on Wednesday…Steiner led Lancaster Bible with four ground balls…Sara Morales led Notre Dame (Md.) with seven goals and an assist.
 
News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 0-4 all-time against Notre Dame (Md.)…The Chargers lost to the Gators, 16-9 last season in Baltimore, Md…Lancaster Bible is 0-3 at home this season…Lancaster Bible has allowed at least 15 goals in each of its four games this season…Horst came into the season without any goals in her collegiate career, and now has seven in her past two games.
