The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team dropped to 0-2 on Thursday night, falling to high-powered Salisbury, 77-32 at Horst Athletic Center. The Seagulls, who received votes in the first D3hoops.com Women's Top 10 Poll earlier this week, improved to 3-0 overall.

How it Happened: Salisbury jumped all over the Chargers on Thursday evening, as the Seagulls' defensive pressure suffocated Lancaster Bible and forced them into several turnovers. Back-to-back three-point plays from Kaylee Otlowski and Amber Onyekwere helped Salisbury build a 10-0 lead, and the visitors eventually took a 15-0 lead with 3:26 to play on another layup from Otlwoski.

Adalyn Steiner had a nice move to the basket on the Chargers' next possession, and got the team on the board with a layup. The Seagulls didn't flinch, and went on another 11-0 run, capped by two free throws from Kolby Brown that made it 26-2 in favor of Salisbury. A late 3-pointer from
Lizzy Tilton made it 26-5 after 10 minutes of play.

Lancaster Bible scored on two straight possessions early in the second quarter thanks to layups from
Tenia Brown and
Jenna Dombach, but Salisbury's defense once again proved tough, and Lancaster Bible trailed 46-18 at halftime.

The Seagulls saved their best quarter for the third, as they pitched a shutout, and didn't allow the Chargers to score, earning a 58-18 lead after 30 minutes of play. Lancaster Bible's best quarter was the fourth, as Tilton knocked down three 3-pointers, and Steiner added a three-point play of her own.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot just 12-of-53 (22.6 percent) from the field, but was 6-of-18 (33.3 percent) from 3-point range…Salisbury took 19 more shots than the Chargers, and was 29-of-72 from the floor (40.3 percent)…The Seagulls were 6-of-24 (25 percent) from beyond the arc…Salisbury held a 42-33 edge in rebounds, and had 24 steals, as they forced 38 Lancaster Bible turnovers…Tilton led the Chargers with 12 points and seven rebounds…
Jenna Dombach had nine points, while
Adalyn Steiner added seven points, three boards, and two steals…
Tenia Brown had two points and seven rebounds, including four on the offensive glass…Kaylee Otlowski led Salisbury with 16 points, 10 rebounds, six steals, and five assists.

Joy Tharrington said. "That being said, we played hard for 40 minutes tonight, and I am pleased we fought the whole game. Salisbury is really good, and their team is the standard of a program that we hope to be in the future."

News & Notes: This was the first-ever meeting between the two teams…The Chargers are 0-2 at home this season…Salisbury has 59 offensive rebounds through three games this season…The 38 turnovers is the first time the Chargers have had 30 turnovers in a game since Dec. 5, 2018 when they committed 30 turnovers in a loss to Gallaudet…Dating back to last season, Tilton has scored in double figures in 17 of her past 19 games.

Up Next: Lancaster Bible will play its first road game of the season on Saturday at St. Mary's (Md.) at 7 p.m…The game was originally scheduled for Feb. 16 in St. Mary's City, Md., but was moved up when Lancaster Bible's two games with Southern Virginia were canceled.
