The Lancaster Bible College women's tennis team won its second straight to open the 2021 season on Saturday, defeating Mount Aloysius, 8-1 at Hempfield Rec Center in Landisville, Pa. The Chargers are now 2-0 this season, while the Mounties dropped to 0-3.

Doubles: The No. 1 team of
Deanna Graber and
Cara DiCiano got Lancaster Bible on the board with an 8-3 victory, while the No. 2 team of
Haylee Fishel and
Kenedi Berkhimer won the same score. Mount Aloysius had to forfeit No. 3 doubles, and the Chargers took an early 3-0 lead.

Singles: The Mounties No. 1 player, Payton Whysong, picked up the team's lone win with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Graber, but DiCiano picked her up at No. 2 singles with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Kendra Sines. Fishel continued her strong start with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles, and Berkhimer cruised at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Kaitlin Kirby earned a 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 singles, and
Chloe Campbell picked up a forfeit victory at No. 6 singles.

News & Notes: Lancaster Bible is now 1-1 all-time against Mount Aloysius, as the Chargers picked up their first-ever win against the Mounties on Saturday…The only other matchup between these teams came on March 26, 2017 when the Mounties earned a 6-3 victory…Lancaster Bible is 6-0 in doubles matches this season…Berkhimer, DiCiano, Campbell, Fishel, and Kirby are all unbeaten in singles and doubles through two matches.
