Chargers Dominant in Win Over Wells

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team returned to Donald H. Funk Field for the first time in nearly a month on Saturday, and earned a big 14-3 victory over Wells. The win clinches the second seed in the upcoming North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs, and the Chargers are set to host their first-ever NEAC playoff game.

The Chargers are 3-3 overall this season and 2-1 in NEAC play, while the Express fell to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in NEAC action. Lancaster Bible still has one NEAC contest left this season, but cannot finish worse than second in the NEAC standings, and thus will host one of the two NEAC semifinal contests.

Kendal Ream scored just 32 seconds later to double the lead, and Kayla Steiner made it 3-0 less than a minute later for the Chargers who were off and running.

Myers and Ream scored their second goals of the game to make it 5-0 later in the half, and Katelynn Perrotta became the first Lancaster Bible to score 20 goals this season with a goal at the 10:28 mark. Camryn Horst scored her 10th of the year with less than three minutes to play in the half, and Perrotta netted her second of the half with 2:25 remaining to give Lancaster Bible an 8-0 lead they held to halftime.

Steiner opened the scoring 2:58 into the second half, and Perrotta made it 10-0 less than five minutes into the frame. Myers and Ream scored again midway through the second half, and Natalie Boltz added two goals as well, as the Chargers built a 14-0 lead. Wells scored three late to goals to spoil the shutout, but the Chargers secured their third win of the season.
