How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team fell to Gallaudet University losing by a score of 65-56 on Tuesday, February 1.

Alaysha Iwais swished a long jump shot to retake the lead.
Jenna Dombach added a jumper from the wing to put LBC ahead 9-5. Iwais continued the run, drilling a 3-pointer to give the Chargers a seven-point lead.
Lizzy Tilton connected on a transition 3-pointer, making the score 15-7. After a 4-0 run by the Bison, Dombach gathered up a loose ball and knifed to the basket for a layup. Iwais closed the quarter by drawing a foul and hitting a pair of free throws to put LBC ahead 19-13.

Heller opened the scoring in the second half, finishing a layup in the paint to put LBC up by eight points. After the Bison closed back within four points, Tilton hit a layup to make the score 23-17. Heller then knocked another 3-pointer, extending the lead to nine with just over five minutes remaining in the half. Steiner scored back-to-back baskets, giving LBC a 30-23 advantage.
Jade Eshelman added a layup just before the end of the half, making the score 32-26 at the break.

Iwais scored the first basket of the second half, knocking down jump shot. Gallaudet battled back, pulling back within four points. Eshelman hit a pair of free throws to extend the lead back to four. The Bison kept fighting back, eventually tying the game at 39. Gallaudet closed the quarter on an 8-0 run, taking a 44-39 lead into the fourth quarter.

Eshelman started a rally in the fourth quarter, converting a layup off a great pass from Steiner. Iwais then sprinted the length of the floor for a layup to bring the Chargers back within a single point. Iwais capped off the 6-0 run by hitting a jumper to give LBC a 45-44 lead. Trailing by one, Steiner knifed to the basket for a layup to retake the lead. Steiner then swiped a steal and found Dombach in transition for a layup to put the Chargers up by three. Gallaudet fought back, scoring the final 11 points of the game to picking up a 65-56 victory. Â
