How It Happened
The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped a hard-fought battle with the University of Saint Joseph by a score of 7-2 on Wednesday, March 17.
The Chargers (0-7 Overall) struck first, scoring in the bottom of the first inning.
Sheyenne King worked a walk and advanced to second on passed ball.
Bryanna Hoover then smacked a single into right center, allowing King to hustle around and score. The Blue Jays (4-2 Overall) answered back, scoring three runs in the top of the second inning to grab a 3-1 lead. Battling rainy conditions, starting pitcher
Alyssa Hamilton slowed the Blue Jays offense, keeping them off the score board for the next several innings. Hamilton went on to throw the first complete game of her career.
Saint Joseph scored two runs in the fifth and one run in the sixth to stretch their advantage to 6-1. The Chargers tried to start a rally in the bottom of the sixth inning. Hamilton smashed a double over the left fielder's head, putting a runner in scoring position.
Adalyn Steiner then rocketed a single into center field, allowing Hamilton to score. The Chargers could not get any closer, eventually falling 7-2.

How It Happened
The Chargers concluded their spring break trip by falling to Worchester St. by a score of 4-3.
LBC (0-8 Overall) once again struck in the first inning. With two outs,
Alyssa Hamilton singled into left field and then advanced to second on a passed ball.
Bryanna Hoover then popped a single into right field, allowing Hamilton to score.
The Lancers (3-3 Overall) tied the game in the bottom of the second inning. LBC answered back in the fourth inning. Hamilton worked a walk and Hoover reached base on an error, putting two runners on base.
Adalyn Steiner then delivered an RBI single into right field, putting LBC ahead 2-1. Worcester St. responded, scoring in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-2 advantage.
The Chargers made one last push in the top of the seventh inning.
Chloe King started the rally by hitting a single into left field.
Sonja Nelson pinch hit, laying down a perfect bunt to reach base. With runners on first and second,
Phoebe Clemens blasted a single into right center, scoring a run to bring LBC back within one. The Chargers could not complete the rally, losing 4-3.
