The Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team earned its 10
th win of the season on Saturday, as the Chargers defeated Wells, 106-19 at Horst Athletic Center. The victory propels the Chargers to 10-5 overall this season and 5-2 in United East Conference play, while the Express dropped to 0-17 overall and 0-8 in conference action.

How It Happened: Lancaster Bible shot the ball well from the opening tip, as the Chargers were 13-of-21 from the floor in the opening 10 minutes. The Chargers opened the game on a 12-0 run, highlighted by 3-pointers from
Jenna Dombach and
Shelby Gard. Lancaster Bible concluded the opening quarter the way they started, as Gard knocked down back-to-back 3-pointers in the final 29 seconds to give the Chargers a 31-2 lead after 10 minutes.

The second quarter played out much of the same way for the Chargers, as
Adalyn Steiner, Iwais, and Dombach had baskets on three consecutive possessions.
Mikayla Via and
Sydney Heller had 3-pointers in the middle of the quarter, while Iwais completed a three-point play with 58 seconds to play. Gard capped off her impressive first half with another buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the half and finished with 18 points in the first 20 minutes.

Iwais connected for a 3-pointer to open the second half and Via hit another 90 seconds later. Lancaster Bible's defense continued to play well too, as they kept the Express off the scoreboard for the first 3:45 of the third quarter.

Lancaster closed out the game with a strong performance in the fourth quarter as well, outscoring the Express, 17-9.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot a season-best 56.2 percent from the floor (41-of-73), including a season-high 45.7 percent (16-of-35) from 3-point range…Wells shot 10 percent (5-of-50) from the field…
Irene Were and Iwais each had a game-high 19 points, while Were added 18 rebounds…Heller and Gard each finished with 18 points and six assists, while Dombach had 15 points and seven assists…Morgan Adams had nine points to pace the Express.
