The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team faced off with the Eastern Eagles on Tuesday afternoon, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. The Chargers move to 9-3-1 on the season, the Eagles move to 2-4-5 overall.
How it Happened: The Chargers entered their matchup against Eagles looking for another win. The Chargers got off to a hot start as Kendal Ream put a shot low center on a run out off a good pass from Leah Perreault. This gave Chargers an early 1-0 lead only 7 minutes into play. The rest of the half was a defensive battle as both teams tried to find a break in the defense but neither were successful sending the Chargers to halftime with a 1-0 lead.
The Chargers came into the second half looking to extend their lead, but the Eagles got one to go early. A corner kick from the Eagles led to chaos inside the goalie's box leading to the game tying goal, 1-1.
For the rest of the half both teams would take shots trying to take the lead. On the backs of good defensive plays, neither the Chargers or the Eagles earned themselves a goal through the entirety of the second half. As the horn sounded the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
By the Numbers: The Chargers beat out the Eagles in shots 14-12… both teams had 6 saves a piece… Chargers tallied 5 corners to the Eagles 3… Ream had a goal… Perreault added an assist.
Information to Know: This is the Chargers' first draw since the 2018 season… this is the Chargers' second time ending in a draw to the Eagles and the fourth time playing them.
