The Lancaster Bible College softball team squared off against the Penn St. Berks Lions on Sunday evening in another United East Conference competition. The Chargers ended up falling twice 9-0 and 13-3 as they move to 6-10 overall and 2-4 in conference. The Lions are now 8-4 overall and 3-1 in conference.

Game One: 9-0, Loss

How It Happened: The Chargers couldn't find the scoreboard in the first game of the doubleheader despite five hits leaving six on base. The Lions scored the bulk of their runs in the third inning while a three-run homerun in the 5
th inning sealed the 9-0 win for them.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had five hits and six runners left on base… the Lions had 11 hits for nine runs and nine RBI's… the Chargers struck out one while the Lions struck out seven… several Chargers had one hit including Chloe and
Sheyenne King,
Phoebe Clemens (her 100
th career hit),
Hannah Lieb, and
Alyssa Hamilton.
Game Two: 13-3, Loss

How It Happened: The Lions scored three to open the game, and a grand slam in the third inning gave them a 7-0 lead. But a Clemens triple brought in two runners to close the gap to 7-2. The Lions continued their hot hitting, scoring six more runs through the next two innings, and a Clemens hit scored
Sarah Davies to bring the final to 13-3.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had seven hits for three runs and three RBIs… the Lions had 12 hits for 13 runs and 12 RBIs including two home runs… the Lions struck out five batters… Clemens and Lieb both went 2-3 on the game with Clemens having all three RBIs… Hamilton,
Noelle Martin, and
Sarah Davies all added a hit each.
