The Lancaster Bible College Softball team traveled to Williamsport, Pa. on Saturday to compete against United East foe Penn College in a doubleheader. The Chargers dropped two close games 7-4 and 8-3. The Chargers fall to 7-15 overall and 3-9 in conference, while the Wildcats improve to 15-5 overall and 7-1 in conference.

Game One, 7-4 Loss

How It Happened: The Chargers were the first to find the scoreboard on the day as senior
Adalyn Steiner hit a strong grounder to third base, resulting in an error which scored
Sheyenne King and
Alyssa Hamilton. The Chargers led 2-0 after three innings. The Wildcats got one run in the fourth inning, but the Chargers responded in the fifth with Steiner again hitting a single to right field, scoring Hamilton and
Phoebe Clemens. The Chargers held a 4-1 lead in the fifth inning.

Despite the lead, the Chargers were held at bay offensively, and the Wildcats stormed back, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to tie the game at 4-4. Then in the sixth inning, the Wildcats scored three more runs to take the lead and take game one 7-4.

By the Numbers: The Chargers had four hits and four runs with two RBIs… the Wildcats tallied 12 hits and seven runs and six RBIs… Hamilton,
Sheyenne King, Clemens, and Steiner all had a hit each with Steiner having both RBIs… Weaver went 3-4 for the day.
Game Two, 8-3 Loss

How It Happened: The Chargers scored one early as Steiner got a single through center field, scoring
Sheyenne King and taking the lead 1-0. The Wildcats though scored seven runs in the next two innings, taking a demanding 7-1 lead.
Chloe King doubled in the top of the fourth bringing in
Amelia Huey and Steiner to cut the deficit to four runs, but the Wildcats proved to be too much, scoring one more run in the sixth inning leading to an 8-3 win for the Wildcats.

By the Numbers: The Chargers grabbed six hits with three runs and three RBIs… the Wildcats had 14 hits for eight runs and seven RBIs… Steiner and
Chloe King both went 2-3, with Steiner tallying one RBI and King tallying two RBIs… Huey and Clemens each added a hit… Specht and Morder both had three hits for the Wildcats.
