The Lancaster Bible College Men's Cross Country team competed in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships Saturday morning at Lock Haven University. The Chargers competed well with senior
Mitchell Gray having a record day.
The team finished 20
th out of 29 total teams finding themselves ahead of teams like Penn College, St. Mary's (Md.), and Penn St. Berks.
Individual Finishes
- Senior Mitchell Gray set a new program record for both finish at regionals and time as he placed 17th overall with a time of 24:57.6.
- Freshman David Helms was the next best finish at 124th place with a time of 27:20.1.
- Senior Daniel Lefko placed 159th with a time of 28:52.9.
- Sophomore Ethan Hofstetter finished 196th with a time of 31:38.1.
- Junior Joey Benedict rounded out the Chargers squad with a 200th place finish at a time of 32:12.8.
Carnegie Mellon won the event finishing with 39 total places. Emmanuel Leblond of Johns Hopkins won the individual title with a time of 24:12.8.
Gray and the Chargers will wait to see if he earned a spot in the NCAA Division III National race.
