The Lancaster Bible College Women's Tennis team battled with Johnson & Wales Charlotte Tuesday afternoon and picked up their first victory of the season. The Chargers secured the victory in an abridged match-up 5-2. The Chargers move to 1-2 overall while the Wildcats move to 3-5. 
 
How It Happened: In doubles play, Sarah Steckbeck/Jania Weist earned the 8-6 victory before Sierra Hartmann/Natalie Hoover won 7-3 in the tiebreaker after finishing 7-7. 
 
On the singles side, the Chargers earned the victory in the three matches completed. Steckbeck and Weist won their respective matches by identical scores of 7-5 and 6-0. Hartmann earned her victory through three sets (6-7 (3), 6-4, 10-6). Two singles matches were unfinished due to rain. The Wildcats earned their team points through forfeits by the Chargers. 
 
Up Next: The Chargers will take Wednesday off from competition and return to action Thursday, March 7th when they face off against Saint Vincent at 10:00 a.m.
