The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team began their 2025 campaign on Friday evening out in Angola, Ind. as part of the Trine Quad Match this weekend, earning a 3-0 win over Mount St. Joseph. The Chargers begin the season 1-0 overall while the Lions start at 0-1 overall.
How it Happened:
It was senior
Dawson Forney who knocked the first kill of 2025 for the Chargers to open the scoring, then LBC opened up a 12-8 lead after a kill and an ace from sophomore
Jaiden Flanagan. The Lions kept threatening, taking the lead 18-16 and again at 19-17, but the Chargers rattled off four in a row to pull back in front. LBC closed out the set with back-to-back kills from Forney to win set one 25-21.
The Chargers grabbed an early lead in set two after an ace from junior
Jake Rotelle and a block from Flanagan on back-to-back plays to make it 6-2. Mount St. Joseph ripped off four straight to pull within one point at 12-11, but junior
Nicholas Marion ended the run with a kill. The Lions later tied the set at 18-all, then battled ahead to a two-point lead late in the set at 23-21. Lancaster Bible responded with four straight points, with two kills from sophomore
Jordan Yoder bookending the run and the set with a 26-24 win.
LBC ran out again in set three with a 5-0 lead capped by a service ace from Forney, with the lead extending to 12-5 later in the set off a block from junior transfer
Zach Wyant. The Chargers carried their lead throughout the set, finishing off the Lions in their season opener to win 25-16 and cap a 3-0 sweep.

The Chargers are now 3-0 all-time against Mount St. Joseph, with each match being played at a neutral site. Lancaster Bible has now won their last six season openers dating back to 2020 and have won their last three season openers on the road/neutral site.
