The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team traveled picked up a dominant road win on Saturday afternoon as they traveled to Valley Forge and earned a 5-0 victory. The Chargers improve to 5-4-2 overall and 2-1 in conference while the Patriots fall to 2-9-1 overall and 0-3 in conference.
How it Happened:
The Chargers drew a corner kick in the first two minutes with no score, then senior
Andrew Cox dribbled into the box and knocked a shot to the bottom left for a score, giving the Chargers an early lead in the 11th minute. Junior goalie
Chris Jackson went on to make two saves in goal, then senior
Ben Nolt gathered the ball for a shot and score in the 17th minute to give LBC a 2-0 lead. A few minutes later, the Chargers crowded the box with the ball on the right side, seeing senior
Lucas Durkin punch it in from the right side off a pass from sophomore
Joel Walker for his first career score, the Chargers' third goal in the first 20 minutes. The Chargers went on to draw three more corners and held Valley Forge without a shot for the rest of the half to give them a three-goal lead at halftime.
Lancaster Bible drew the first three corners of the second half before a foul on Cox in the box sent him to the penalty marker, sinking another goal as the Chargers piled on early in the second. About three minutes later, sophomore
Silas Dellaperute had the ball on the right side of the field, sending a cross into the left side of the box that Cox gathered in scored once again, giving him a hat-trick on the day with three goals and the Chargers a 5-0 lead that they did not relinquish as they closed out the Patriots on the road.

Information to Know:
The Chargers improve to 28-3 all-time against Valley Forge and have won 19 consecutive matches against the Patriots dating back to 2001, before the entire LBC Men's Soccer roster was even born. This was the Chargers' first road win since September 20 and their third shutout of the season.
Andrew Cox scored his third career hat-trick today and became just the 13th player in program history to reach 30 career goals, landing him in 12th place all-time with 32 career scores. Cox also moves into 15th all-time with 75 career points.
