The Lancaster Bible College Women's Basketball team traveled to Harrisonburg, Va. for a Saturday afternoon matchup with Eastern Mennonite, falling 61-54. The Chargers fall to 4-8 overall and 2-0 in the United East while the Royals improve to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in the ODAC.

How it Happened:
The Royals began the game on a 6-0 run over the first few minutes before freshman
Miriam Spender got LBC on the board with a free throw. Later in the quarter, freshman
Emily Wilson knocked down a three-pointer, but EMU responded with the next five as they led by nine. Juniors
Rachel Nolt and
Isabella Eufemia created a five-point run for the Chargers as Nolt hit a three and Eufemia had a jumper as they trailed 15-9 after 10 minutes.

Spender began the second quarter with a layup, but the Royals pushed the lead to double-digits with a seven-point run at 22-11. The Royals led by as many as 16 in the quarter while Eufemia and Wilson added buckets to end various EMU runs, but the Royals were able to carry that lead into halftime as the Chargers trailed 35-19.

Out of the break, the Chargers hit back-to-back 3-pointers as Nolt and sophomore
Shania Stoltzfus each hit from behind the arc, then Nolt hit two free throws to cap an eight-point opening run to the second half as the Chargers cut the lead in half. The Chargers stayed even with EMU for the rest of the quarter as Wilson and Spender scored and Stoltzfus hit another three, ending the third trailing by 10 at 44-34.

The Royals had four early points in the fourth quarter, then with under eight minutes left Eufemia completed a three-point play on an and-one layup to get the deficit back to 10. Nolt trimmed the lead to eight on free throws, then Eufemia drained a 3-pointer to pull within five points at 48-43. Wilson hit a three to make it a four-point game, but the Royals pushed it back to eight points with a minute remaining. Wilson answered with a three and Nolt drove for a layup, but the defense could not hold off EMU enough as they closed out a seven-point home victory over the Chargers.

- The Chargers shot 33-percent from the floor, a season-high 47-percent from 3-point range, and 63-percent from the free throw line
- The Royals shot 38-percent from the floor, 33-percent from three, and 63-percent on free throws

The Chargers are now 1-5 all-time against Eastern Mennonite and have their four-game winning streak snapped. The Chargers move to 1-4 in road games this season have their first loss of December after starting the month 3-0 with two conference victories.
