The Lancaster Bible College Women's Basketball team traveled to Bryn Athyn on Saturday for a United East Conference matchup falling 77-48. The Chargers move to 10-12 overall and 7-7 in conference play while the Lions improve to 18-5 overall and 11-3 in conference action.
How It Happened: The lead changed twice in the first few minutes of the game as
Rachel Nolt knocked down a jumper at 7:42 to take a 4-3 lead. The Lions reclaimed the lead but another Chargers bucket, this time a three-pointer form
Jenna Dombach, gave the Chargers a 7-6 lead with 7:03 to go. Despite the quick start, the Lions proceeded to go on a 16-2 run to end the first quarter leading 22-9.
Keeping their momentum, the Lions lead grew to as much as 26 points in the second quarter. A layup from
Natane White at the end of the half pushed their deficit to 46-22.
White opened the second half with a three-pointer to bring the score to 46-25, but the Chargers were not able to break the 20-point lead as the Lions went on to win 77-48.
By the Numbers: The Chargers shot 30-percent from the field, 25-percent from three, and 57-percent from the line… the Lions were 42-percent from the field, 37-percent from three, and 75-percent from the line… White had a game high 13 points and three three-pointers… Dombach had nine points and Nolt and
Natalie Wenger had eight points each… Alayna Day had a game high 18 points for the Lions.
