The Lancaster Bible College Women's Tennis team hosted the Penn St. Abington Lions on Saturday for their first United East Conference match of the season winning 6-1. The Chargers improve to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in conference and the Lions fall to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Chargers were able to blank the Lions in singles play sweeping all five competitions besides the sixth slot which had to be forfeited.
Sierra Hartmann picked up a convincing win the first slot with
Jania Weist,
Natalie Hoover,
Susannah Clawser, and
Becky Dimov all following suit. Besides Hartmann's 7-5 second set, the Chargers did not allow their opponent to score over three points in a set.
The Chargers were able to get two of three in doubles play with Hartmann and Hoover winning the first slot 6-3 and Weist and Clawser winning the second 6-0.
