Men’s Volleyball Falls Short in Second Round

The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team squared off against the Messiah Falcons in the NCAA Division III Second Round falling 3-1 after stealing the first set 28-26. The Chargers finish the 2025 season 23-8 overall and 8-0 in the United East. The Falcons improve to 26-3 and 7-1 in the Middle Atlantic Conference.

How It Happened: The Chargers were able to steal the first set in dramatic fashion thanks to a huge block from Kevin Bryant and Dawson Forney and sealed by a kill from Carson Hoover. A tough battle from the set, the Falcons got the best of set two jumping out to a 17-9 lead. The Chargers strung together an 8-1 run to come within one point, 18-17. The Falcons returned the favor with a 7-3 run of their own to win 25-20.

A kill from Jordan Yoder in set number three gave the Chargers an 11-10 lead but Messiah quickly reclaimed the lead 19-13. While the Chargers managed to stay within striking distance, the Falcons kept them at bay responding to any potential runs with scores of their own. The Chargers found themselves down by two, 22-20 after a service ace from Jaiden Flanagan, but the Falcons went on to win 25-21.

With the game on the line, the Falcons opened set four with a 6-0 run. The Chargers strung together a few points here and there, but the Falcons controlled the set from the start keeping a distant lead and going on to win the match 25-18.

  • The Falcons finished with 49 kills with 13 blocks and five service aces.
  • Alex Kagaro had a game high 12 kills for the Falcons.
  • Kevin Bryant led the Chargers with 10 kills and four blocks.
  • Jordan Yoder had eight kills and a team high 10 digs.
  • Tyler Martin added 36 assists while Jaiden Flanagan added five blocks.
