The Lancaster Bible College Women's Tennis team defeated the Penn St. Abington Lions in the First Round of the United East Playoffs on Friday afternoon, 4-3. The Chargers improve to 10-7 overall on the year and will play the one-seed St. Mary's (Md.) on Wednesday, April 30.
Singles proved to be the deciding factor in Friday's contest with the Chargers taking four of the six matches.
Jania Weist cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win while fellow teammate
Susannah Clawser also had a convincing win 6-1, 6-1.
Natalie Hoover fought a close battle but pulled out a 7-5, 7-5 win while
Becky Dimov finished 6-2, 6-1. The Chargers were unable to get a win in doubles play but didn't need to as they just squeaked over the Lions 4-3.
