Softball Names Three to United East Postseason Honors

The United East Conference announced their Major Award Winners and All-Conference teams for the 2025 season with the Chargers earning earning three on the All-Conference List. Graduate student Phoebe Clemens was named to the First Team, Maddison Atkins was named to the Second Team, and Alyssa Taylor was named to the Third Team.

Wrapping up her illustrious five-year career, Clemens was named All-Conference First Team for the second time in her career and fifth overall All-Conference nod. Clemens finished the year batting .463 from the plate tallying 50 hits, 37 runs, 35 runs batted in, 33 stolen bases, and 19 extra base hits. She also finished the season with a .955 fielding percentage including 70 putouts and 77 assists. In the United East, Clemens finished in the top five for seven total statistical categories including second in slugging percentage (.759), triples (10), and stolen bases. She will end her career several program bests finishing batting .452 while racking up 237 hits, 168 runs, 159 runs batted in, and 116 stolen bases.

In her first season with the Chargers since transferring from Clarks Summit, Maddison Atkins earned All-Conference Second Team honors as an outfielder. Atkins hit .276 from the plate while tallying 28 hits, 25 runs batted in, and 15 runs. She had a .952 fielding percentage with 28 putouts and 32 assists. She also picked up six wins on the mound striking out 76 batters in 112.1 innings pitched.

It was also Taylor's first postseason recognition with the Chargers, being named to the All-Conference Third Team as an outfielder. Taylor hit .306 from the plate while tallying 30 hits, 21 runs, and 15 runs batted in. She tallied a .905 fielding percentage with 39 putouts and 37 assists.

Josilynn Garcia of Saint Elizabeth was named Player of the Year. Mackenzie Weaver of Penn College was named Pitcher of the Year. Emma McElroy of Penn St. Brandywine was named Rookie of the Year and Donna Ference of Penn St. Berks was named Coach of the Year.
