Â
How it Happened:
The Chargers controlled the ball early on as they drew a corner kick eight minutes in and senior
Leah Perreault put two shots on goal that were saved. LBC drew a foul in the box in the 17th minute that earned a penalty kick, with senior
Janae Bergey putting it through for a score to give the Chargers the lead. A little later in the half, sophomore
Allie Zuber helped lead a break and found Bergey once again, punching in another goal past the diving Gophers' keeper for a 2-0 Charger lead. The Gophers earned a corner kick at the 30-minute mark and forced a shot on goal, with senior
Marcy Foltz making a save. A few minutes later, Bergey had a shot miss left, then junior
Isabella Eufemia got the ball on the left side of the box and vaulted it over the goalie for her first score of the season, with junior
Annie Hoffman getting the assist. After a pair of offsides for the Chargers, the first half end with a 3-0 LBC lead.
Â
Foltz made a pair of saves early in the second half after a Chargers corner kick, then Zuber and junior
Zoi Whitsett each had shots before graduate student
Jade Weir put a shot on goal off a corner that was saved. After another slew of LBC shots, Bergey broke free again off a pass from sophomore
Zoe Beers, knocking another goal in for her third of the game and capping the scoring for the Chargers as they closed out a 4-0 win for their first home victory of the season.
