The #7-seed Lancaster Bible College Women's Basketball team traveled to Williamsport, Pa. on Saturday afternoon for their United East Quarterfinal game, falling to #2-seed Penn College by a score of 76-42. The Chargers finish their season at 11-16 overall while the Wildcats improve to 20-6 overall and advance to the United East Semifinals to face #3-seed Penn St. Abington on Tuesday.
How it Happened:
The Wildcats dominated from the start as they held LBC to just one point over the first seven minutes, racing out to a 15-1 lead before
Isabella Eufemia (Jr.) sank a pair of free throws.
Raven Hunter (Sr.) then ended the quarter with a layup, but the Chargers trailed 20-5 after one.
The Chargers'
Miriam Spender (Fr.) got a layup to go early in the second quarter, then the Wildcats went on an 8-0 run to reach 30 points quick before another pair of Eufemia free throws. Hunter got another score before the Chargers closed the half with five in the final minute as
Emily Wilson (Fr.) hit a 3-pointer and Eufemia hit a jumper as the Chargers trailed 38-16 at halftime.
The Chargers opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run with baskets from Wilson and
Shania Stoltzfus (So.) for a 16-point game, then Penn College had another run of six in the middle of the quarter before Hunter ended the run with a bucket. The Wildcats closed with another six in a row to lead by 29 heading into the final period.
Penn College began the fourth with another eight straight points, capping a 14-point run before Eufemia hit a three to end it. Wilson got a pair of shots to go later on, then
Nikki Diehl (Fr.) scored eight in a row by herself including two made threes as the Chargers made one final push before the Wildcats closed out a big playoff win, advancing and ending the Chargers' season in the Quarterfinals.

Information to Know:
This was the Chargers' first-ever playoff matchup with Penn College and are now 17-5 all-time against the Wildcats, losing both the regular season matchup and today in the postseason. The Chargers improved their win total by one this season with an overall record of 11-16, making it back-to-back 10-win seasons for head coach
Kel Brown in his first two seasons.
Emily Wilson finished as the Chargers' leading scorer this season at 12.0 points per game and 325 total points, also leading the team in assists with 98 in all.
Rachel Nolt led the Chargers in rebounding at 207 total boards, her third straight season with over 200 rebounds and ranking sixth in program history with 635 in her career. The Chargers' lone senior this year is
Raven Hunter, spending three seasons with the Chargers and playing in 47 games. Raven finished her career in the red and black with 528 points and 340 rebounds, ranking in second-place in program history in total blocks with 90, including the LBC single-season record with 50 blocks during the 2023-24 season.
