The Lancaster Bible College Men's Volleyball team ended their six-game home stand on Tuesday night as they hosted Wilson for a United East match, earning a 3-1 victory. The Chargers improve to 9-9 overall and 2-0 in the United East while the Phoenix drop to 8-7 overall and 0-1 in the United East.

How it Happened:
Wilson started strong as they took a 5-2 lead early, then
Carson Hoover (Jr.) landed two kills as the teams traded points. Down 9-5, the Chargers launched a run of six straight points with a kill by
Zeke Clark (Jr.) highlighting the run as they swung ahead 11-9 and forced a Wilson timeout. After a tie at 11,
Braden Escover (Fr.) landed back-to-back kills and Clark added a service ace for a quick three-point LBC run. Later in the set,
Gabe Dressler (Fr.) landed an ace and Escover added two more kills as the Chargers wrapped up a 25-22 opening set win.

The Chargers took the lead in set two after a kill and a block back-to-back by
Kevin Bryant (Jr.) for a 4-3 lead, then Hoover had a kill for a two-point lead. Later in the set, the Chargers went on a five-point run with kills by Escover and Bryant, then another quick three capped by an ace from Clark put the Chargers up 16-8 in the set. The lead stretched to 10 before the Phoenix chipped away a bit, but the Chargers closed strong with four of the final five points to win set two 25-16.

Wilson began set three with several kills to reach a 6-2 lead early on, then towards the middle of the set the Chargers got kills from Hoover and Clark to cut the lead to two at 12-10. The lead stayed around two as Hoover and
Devin Galloway (Jr.) landed kills, then after Wilson led by four, two in a row by Escover cut it back to two at 21-19. The Phoenix reached set point, then the Chargers fended off two volleys before Wilson clinched the set 25-23 as Lancaster Bible dropped their first set in conference play in almost seven years.

The teams traded the first six points of set four before a three-point run from the Chargers made it 6-3, with a block by Bryant and
Timothy Fletcher (So.) in the middle. Wilson fought back to tie it at 7-7, then LBC won six of the next seven points including three straight kills from Hoover to take a five-point lead in the set. Later in the set, the Chargers scored four straight for their largest lead of the set at 19-12, then the teams traded the final 12 volleys before the Chargers got a kill from Bryant to close the set 25-18 and improve to 2-0 in conference play.

Information to Know:
The Chargers remain unbeaten against Wilson all-time at 18-0 and are now 22-0 in conference play since rejoining a conference back in 2023. However, the Chargers saw their active streak of 83 consecutive sets won in conference play dating back to 2019 get snapped tonight as Wilson took the third set 25-23, with their last conference set loss coming back on March 30, 2019 against SUNY Poly. Dating back to 2017, the Chargers have won 45 consecutive regular season conference matches, spanning the NEAC, CSAC, and United East conferences with their last loss coming back on April 1, 2017 against Penn St. Altoona in NEAC play.
