The Lancaster Bible College Men's Soccer team helped celebrate Homecoming weekend on campus here in Lancaster, Pa. on Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 shutout win over Centenary (N.J.) in front of a packed crowd. The Chargers improve to 2-5 overall while the Cyclones fall to 2-5-1 overall.
How it Happened:
The Chargers drew a corner kick in the first three minutes where
Derek Rhine (Sr.) had a shot that missed wide, then a few minutes later,
Micah Dressler (So.) had a pair of saves in goal to prevent an early Cyclones chance. The teams traded possession throughout the middle of the first half, then with about 10 minutes to play,
Michael Straubel (Fr.) had a good chance on goal that was saved by the Centenary (N.J.) keeper. The Chargers had two corner kicks down the stretch, but the score remained 0-0 as the halftime break commenced.
About ten minutes into the second half, Dressler made another save on a shot near the baseline, then
Riley Bills (Fr.) had a pair of shots that narrowly missed, one off the post and the other saved by the Cyclones' Gavin Veres. However, the third time was the charm for Bills as
Taylor Gehman (So.) found him on a pass into the box that resulted in a ground shot that soared into the left side of the goal, securing Riley's first career goal and a 1-0 home lead for the Chargers. Lancaster Bible kept up the intensity with four more shots, then after a Centenary (N.J.) shot was saved by Dressler, the Chargers flipped the field quick as
Jacob Melleby (Fr.) gathered the ball on the left side of the box and fired a shot into the net for a score, with
Silas Dellaperute (Jr.) and
Ruben Reyes (So.) both setting up the shot to a 2-0 advantage with five minutes remaining. The Cyclones had two more shots late, but LBC closed the door as they secured a shutout win on Homecoming weekend.

Information to Know:
The Chargers are now 2-0 all-time against Centenary (N.J.) with the win today, defeating the Cyclones just last season on the road 4-0 in Hackettstown, N.J. This was the Chargers' first shutout win of the season and their first at home since October 11, 2025 against Gallaudet.
Riley Bills notched his first career goal in today's game, gathering the game-winning goal as he opened the scoring in today's shutout win.
