The Lancaster Bible College Women's Soccer team played their first official match of the 2026 season on Thursday night as they traveled to face York (Pa.), falling by a score of 3-0. The Chargers begin their season at 0-1 overall while the Spartans improve to 1-0-1 overall.
How it Happened:
The Spartans grabbed the early lead at home as they scored just over three minutes in for the 1-0 advantage. The teams then traded possession throughout most of the first half as neither team could muster a shot on goal, with both the Chargers and Spartans crashing on defense in key moments. York (Pa.) had a shot that missed high in the final few minutes, but that would be it as the Chargers faced a one-goal deficit at halftime.
York (Pa.) earned a corner kick and got a shot off early in the second half with no score, then Zoe Beers (Jr.) took a shot that dribbled wide for LBC. Several minutes later, a costly defensive error in the box led to another score by the Spartans, increasing their lead to 2-0 before another mistake on the defensive end resulted in a third York (Pa.) score. Goalkeeper Alexa Sick (Fr.) made several second-half saves and Beers fired another shot that was narrowly saved, but the Chargers could not find the back of the net as they fell on the road.
