Latta (Brake), an alum of Lancaster Bible (’09) and former cross country runner herself, took the helm of the program in July of 2021. Brake not only serves as Head Coach of the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams but is a full-time assistant with the Track & Field program.
Before returning to Lancaster Bible, Brake was an elementary school teacher and coach at Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pa. for over eight years.
In her three seasons, both the Men’s and Women’s programs have seen significant improvement including more recently United East Conference Runner-Up finishes for both squads. Latta also had two Conference Runner of the Year awards in Mitchell Gray and Dana Keller. Gray is the reigning Runner of the Year winning the award in 2022 as well, Keller was also named the Conference Rookie of the Year in 2022. Latta has coached 15 total All-Conference selections; 10 selections for the men and five for the women.

Season-by-Season Highlights
2021: Both teams finished fourth in their respective field at the United East Conference Championships with four total runners earning Second Team All-Conference. Josiah McClymont, Adam Horning, and Daniel Lefko earned All-Conference honors on the men’s side while Amanda Allen was the lone female.
2022: Despite the men placing fourth place at the United East Championship, there was significant improvement with transfer Mitchell Gray claiming the Conference Runner of the Year title, just the third Charger to do so. Teammate Adam Horning also earned Second Team All-Conference while Alex McWilliams was awarded the Elite 14 award. The women saw a spot improvement, finishing third overall while Dana Keller was awarded First Team All-Conference and United East Rookie of the Year after a fourth-place finish. Gray earned NCAA Division III All-Region recognition as well.
2023: Both the men and women carried out one of their best year’s yet with both squads placing second overall at the United East Championship. While the two squads saw eight total All-Conference selections, both Keller and Gray earned individual titles and were named Conference Runners of the Year.
