Marshall Tague was named head coach of the Lancaster Bible men’s basketball team in June of 2012, becoming the 11th coach in program history. In his first season at the helm, the Chargers went 5-21, earning victories over NEAC foes, Cazenovia, SUNY Cobleskill and conference runner-up Wells. Tague also helped the Chargers to their first regular season victory over Valley Forge Christian since the 2005-06 season.
Tague’s second season leading the Chargers was the finest season in program history as he guided Lancaster Bible to the most wins in program history as the Chargers finished 22-9. The Chargers won the NEAC Regular Season Championship before losing to Morrisville State in the NEAC Final. Tague was named NEAC Coach of the Year by his fellow coaches for Lancaster Bible's, 16-2 mark in conference play. Lancaster Bible defeated Valley Forge Christian in the NCCAA East Region Final and earned a third place finish at the NCCAA National Tournament. The third place finish was the best in school history and during the National Tournament, Tague was named 2013-14 NCCAA Division II Coach of the Year.
Prior to arriving in Lancaster, Tague was an assistant coach at Arizona Christian University, which was previously named Southwestern Christian). Prior to serving with the Firestorm for eight years as an assistant, Tague completed his playing days with Southwestern Christian. In his three seasons in the desert, Tague scored 1,063 points and was named to the NCCAA All-American Honorable Mention Team during the 2001-02 season. Tague was also named an NCCAA Scholar Athlete for the 2003-04 campaign.
In addition to his head coaching duties at Lancaster Bible, Tague is the game management official for men’s and women’s soccer as well as baseball.
Tague and his wife, Jessica live in Lancaster with their two-year old daughter, Brooklyn and newborn son, Elijah. When he’s not coaching, Tague enjoys playing golf, reading and spending time with his family.
