Pete Beers began his tenure at Lancaster Bible College during the 2000-01 academic year. He coached the men's basketball team at Lancaster Bible from 2000-12 and is the program's all-time winningest coach with 141 wins. He stepped down prior to the 2012-13 season to focus on his job as the Director of Athletics at Lancaster Bible.
Since he began at Lancaster Bible in 2000, Beers has helped transform the athletic department from an NCCAA Division II school to one that participates in NCAA Division III. Beers guided the school through its provisional membership (2006-10) and helped solidify the school as a full member prior to the 2010-11 academic year.
Beginning with the 2014-15 academic year, Beers began a three-year term as the President of the NCCAA. This membership elected position will cap a nine-year commitment in an administration position with the NCCAA.
Before Lancaster Bible, Beers coached and taught for four years at Cross Lanes Christian School in Charleston, West Virginia, where he was part of the storied tradition and the only basketball coach to go undefeated in a season in 1996. Before that, Beers got his start in coaching at Pillsbury College, serving as an assistant to Don Rekoske for one year.
Beers was a four-year starter in soccer at Maranatha Baptist University where he received many accolades for his play including being a three-time Lake Michigan All-Conference player, a two-time All-Region player, as well as Player of the Year in 1990. Beers was also a two-time NCCAA II All-American.
In 1995 he completed his Masters of Sports Science Degree from the United States Sports Academy.
Beers resides in Lancaster with his wife Kristina and three sons, Luke, Isaac, and Seth. In his spare time he enjoys reading, bowling, and spending time with his family.
