Women’s Volleyball Wins Second in a Row

Lancaster PA. - The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team won its second straight game Tuesday night in the Horst Athletic Center. The Chargers, with great fan support, handily beat Cedar Crest College 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-22).

The Chargers were led by excellent performances by both middle blockers. Sophomore middle Katie McAllister (Etters, PA) led the team in kills with ten and and the other middle, junior Lauren Miller (Elizabethtown, PA) scored eight kills. Freshman libero Lauren Hurd (Ellendale, PA), with eight digs, sparked a strong defensive effort.

In three close sets Lancaster had control throughout each match. In what turned out to be the final set, the Chargers found their groove early rattling off 7 straight points and leading 17-9. Late in the set, the momentum swung in Cedar Crest's favor, but the Chargers were able to withstand the Falcons rally to win 25-22.

Lancaster Bible College improves to 2-5 on the season. The Chargers return to action at home against Stevenson University in search of three in a row on Thursday, September 11th at 7:00pm.
