Volleyball Splits in Region Battles

Lancaster, PA- Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team lost to Philadelphia Biblical University in four sets 17-25, 11-25, 25-12, 9-25 in the first match Thursday. The Chargers were bounced back and defeated Valley Forge Christian College in four sets for the second time this season.

Against PBU, Lancaster found themselves down 13-2 early in the first set. The Chargers were determined to not give up but were unable to overcome the early deficit. PBU out powered LBC in the second set as well.

Led by sophomore middle Katie McAllister's (Etters, PA) three blocks, the Chargers took control of the third set winning 25-12. However, the Eagle attack responded to the setback by pouncing on the Chargers and taking the third set 25-9.

Senior captain Hannah Noble (Littlestown, PA) along with middle hitter Lauren Miller topped the kill column for the Chargers with five a piece. While the back-row freshmen tandem Lauren Hurd (Ellendale, PA) and Brittney Becker (Sykesville, MD) added eight and five digs respectively.

Lancaster Bible was able to rebound from the first loss of the day by beating Valley Forge Christian College in four sets. It was the second meeting between the regional rivals in as many weeks, and with the same result.

The Charger attack was led by Jill Ferguson (Lititz, PA), Hannah Noble, Katie McAllister all with double digit kills. Defensive specialist Brittney Becker added her second superb back-row display with a career high twenty-three digs.

The Chargers are at home Saturday, when they host Penn State Brandywine for homecoming at 11:00 am.
