Binghamton, NY- The women's basketball (3-5) picked up their third win of the season, and first in the East Region by beating the Davis College Falcons 67-34 on Saturday afternoon. The Chargers have now won 3 of their last 4 outings.
The Falcons played tough to start the game, only trailing by one, 11-10, with 11 left in the first half. The Chargers kicked it into gear by out scoring Davis 27-8 the rest of the period, to extend the halftime lead to 38-18. The second half was more of the same, as the Chargers emptied the bench with every player seeing court time.
The Chargers showed up on the defensive end by holding the Falcons to 25.5% from the field. Lancaster had 24 steals along with 32 turnovers, which they converted into 29 points.
Sophomore guard Christine Maher (Westminster, MD) led the way for the Chargers with 13 points and a team high 8 rebounds. Lacy McClaine (New Bethlehem, PA) and Nicole Karschner (Galeton, PA) rounded out the Chargers in double figures with 13 and 10 respectively. Kayla Hadley, Jess Hammersley, and Nikki Nesbit all had 11 points each for the Falcons.
The Chargers are on the road again on Thursday at Penn State Altoona for their game against the Lions slated for 6:00 pm tipoff.
