Altoona, PA- The women's basketball team lost handily to Penn State Altoona, 78-42. On Thursday night, the Lions exploited Lancaster's two major season long weaknesses, turnovers and poor shooting. The Lions held all Charger scorers to single figures and a woesome 31.1% from the field. The Chargers were also forced into a season high 37 turnovers leading to 35 PSU points.
Lacy McClaine (New Bethlehem, PA) had a team high with 9 points on 3-9 shooting. The lone bright spot for the Chargers was junior Meredith Wrightson (Silver Spring, MD) who grabbed a season high 8 rebounds in the loss. For the Lions: Alicia Glasser, Tamara Thomas, and Marissa Lucas were all in double figures with 13, 12, and 12 respectively.
The Chargers look to bounce back on Tuesday for the final game of the semester, when they face Eastern University in St. David's, PA at 6:00 PM.
