Lancaster, PA- .The Chargers lost Thursday night to the Ramblers of Rosemont College 75-53. The Chargers played hard, but were overpowered on the boards and spotty shooting to fall for the fifth time this season
Lancaster kept the game close for most of the first half to close to within 21-17, but the last 3:10 belonged to the Ramblers. In that amount of time, Rosemont out scored the Chargers 14-3 to end the half up 15 points, 35-20. In the second stanza, Lancaster kept the Ramblers within striking distance. Nicole Karschner (Galeton, PA) led a late game rally with 3 consecutive triples to cut the lead to 11 with 4:21 remaining. Unfortunately, the Chargers would never get any closer due to Rosemont's 15-4 run to end the game.
The Ramblers had three players in double digits to improve to 2-3 on the season: Karen Boyle 17, Adriann Demchenko 16, and Shaquana Washington 16. Adriann Demchenko also finished with a game high 21 rebounds. For the home team, Lacy McClaine (New Bethlehem, PA) finished with 10 points, forward Meredith Wrightson (Silver Spring, MD) dropped 12 points on an impressive 6-9 from the field. Finally, Nicole Karschner had a game high 17 points, but was 5-20 from the field.
This weekend, the Chargers (2-5) open regional play with a trip to Davis College on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
