Doylestown, PA – Lancaster Bible College exploded for four goals in an 11-minute span in the second half as the Chargers downed host Delaware Valley College, 5-1, to remain undefeated early in the season.
The game was tied at 1-1 at halftime and stayed that way for the first 19-plus minutes of the second half. Lancaster Bible held a 19-14 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corners. Jake Kreider (Annville, PA) recorded four saves as he went the distance to gain his third win on the season.
Coach Joshua Beers assessed it like this: “We played a sluggish first half, but we really were pleased with our second half effort. Today was a battle in hot weather of two teams trying to rebuild their programs. I was encouraged that we made some nice adjustments at halftime and really finished off the game in the second half. Zak Kraehmer gave us a huge boost in the midfield and Kyle Keltner's (Menomee Falls, WI) steady play in the back made a big difference today. We are getting production from a lot of different people, and it is exciting to look forward to the challenge on Saturday.”
Next up is the home opener against University of Pitt Greensburg on Saturday at 2:00.
