Chargers Drop Second Straight

Lancaster, PA- After the longest win streak in two years the Chargers have now lost two straight. On Saturday, the Chargers lost to the Aggies of Delaware Valley College 84-62. The loss drops the Chargers to 6-10 on the year.

The Aggies defense gave the Chargers trouble all night, holding the home team to 30% from the field and forcing 28 turnovers. Lancaster's leading scorer, Billy Harrison (Douglassville, PA) was held in check all afternoon, connecting on only four of his 15 shots for 13 points.

After a hard fought first half, Lancaster entered the break trailing the Aggies by four, 38-34. Delaware Valley outscored the Chargers 46-28 in the second half for the final of 84-62. Guard play from James Jones and Jason Seipt helped the Aggies pull away after the break. Jones finished with a game high 25 on nine of 19 shooting including 3-5 from deep.

The bright spot for the Chargers was their ability to get to the free throw line, shooting 28-37, both season highs. Also, Lancaster out-rebounded the visitors 33-28. Carl Edwards (Baltimore, PA) finished with 13 points despite only playing 17 minutes due to injury. In Edward's absence, reserve Jake Clemenson (The Dalles, OR) gave a gritting performance with seven points and seven rebounds.

Lancaster returns to action on Monday at home against Mt. Aloysius College at 7:00 PM.
