Phoenixville, PA- Valley Forge Christian College extended the Chargers losing streak to four games Thursday night, handing them a 91-72 loss. The loss is the first in the Eastern Region for the Chargers in two games.
The game started back and forth. Midway through the first half the Chargers held a one point advantage 18-17, but that was quickly changed as the Patriots rattled off 10 unanswered on the way to heading into the break with a 45-34 advantage.
The second stanza seemed to mirror the first, with the Chargers battling to cut the lead to seven but another run by the home team upped their lead to 19. Justin Mitchell had his way with the Chargers, leading the Patriots with 24 points on 10-13 shooting, 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals. In three out of their last four games Lancaster has allowed their opponents to shoot 47% and score 11 points higher than their season average
In the loss, Billy Harrison (Douglassville, PA) scored a team high 22 points to lead Lancaster. Kevin Keltner (Menomonee Falls, WI) filled the stat sheet with 15 points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Inside, Colin Cooper (Eliot, ME) connected on five of eight shots for 11 points.
The Chargers will try to get on the right track on Saturday when they host Philadelphia Biblical University at 3:00 PM.
