Arcadia Pulls Away, Defeats Chargers 65-47

Freshman Emily Lloyd had eight points and three rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Lancaster Bible College women's basketball team fell to Arcadia University 65-47 in the Cedar Crest Tip-Off Tournament Consolation Game.

Down 11 at halftime, the Chargers used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to cut the Arcadia lead to two points with 10 minutes remaining, before Arcadia answered back with an 11-2 run and put the game away.

"We played sloppy in the first half, but I was pleased with our play for much of the second half," Charger Head Coach Bob Shannon said.

Cindy Blough, Vanessa Clemenson and Nicole Karschner each had seven points in the loss. Karschner had seven rebounds as well. For her efforts in both games over the two-day tournament, Karschner earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Despite the two losses, Shannon said the weekend showed the players and coaching staff what they need to work on for the rest of the season.

"We played hard the past two days," Shannon said. "We need to keep learning and improving our play."

The Chargers (0-3) return to action on Tuesday when they travel to face Rosemont at 7:00 p.m.
